Silverdale Art Group has been in existence for nearly fifty years. Our members are drawn from the local community, and we range from complete beginners and improvers to experienced professional artists. We meet on a weekly basis from September until June, and enjoy regular demonstrations and workshops. We also have extra work days which enable members to work on projects, uninterrupted by other commitments for several hours. We have over forty members who together form an active and lively social group.
The group objectives are to engage with, and promote all aspects of the visual arts in the local community, and to assist in the personal improvement, art education and recreation of our members.
This will be our eleventh year exhibiting as part of the Art Trail and we really enjoy the experience. We are fortunate to be able to stage our exhibition in the Gaskell Hall which is in the centre of the village, and we believe that our exhibition gets better every year. You will discover a large and diverse display which covers all aspects of painting and showcases the talents of many of our members.
We are open at 10am each day – including Friday, other venues are open from 10.30am, and so we are an ideal starting point for the trail. Why not come in, and sample our homemade fayre, while you browse through your Art Trail catalogue and plan your day. We are all local people, so we are a good source of information about Silverdale and all aspects of the trail. If you have time, come back to see us later in the day, and tell us about your day. We never sell out of cakes!
Opening times are: ALL DAY Friday from 10am to 8pm :: Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5.30pm.
We look forward to meeting you.
