I began metal-smithing at college in 2011 and was curious to explore the traditional skills used in bench jewellery. When sterling silver is heated, it develops a remarkable softness that can be worked in many ways such as forging, saw piercing and forming. Subtle texture adds strength and depth, creating unique surface effects to the design. As well as the visual aspect it’s important that a piece of jewellery has special tactile quality so I strive to finish every design to the highest standard. As we all become more eco-conscious, I have transitioned to recycled silver, sourced only from UK suppliers who are members of the Responsible Jewellery Council and committed to ethical standards and sustainability.
