My ceramic pieces are inspired by the natural landscape of Silverdale, where I have lived all my life. They include both thrown and altered vessels that are improvised through intuitive actions. I exploit an economy of transient gestures and the immediacy of plastic clay to capture its essence. I use ephemeral firing techniques, the effects of which highlight the certainty of chance.
