Directions

By car:   RSPB Leighton Moss nature reserve (Grid Reference SD478750) is 4 miles/ 6 km north of Carnforth. Take J35 off the M6 (signposted Carnforth) then follow the A6 north (signposted to Milnthorpe). Brown Tourist signs direct you to the reserve off the A6 and take you through the villages of Yealand Redmayne and Yealand Storrs. Alternatively, to come from Carnforth, follow signs to Silverdale, passing through the village of Millhead then shortly after entering Warton turn left and follow the road until you come to a T junction beyond the level crossing, where you turn right then right again just before the Silverdale railway station

By train:   Silverdale station is on the Manchester Airport/Preston to Barrow line and is only 150 metres from RSPB Leighton Moss nature reserve.Turn left out of the station entrance then right and right again. By bus: The nearest bus stop is immediately opposite the reserve entrance. Bittern bus: on Sundays you can visit Leighton Moss on the Bittern bus which runs from Lancaster University and bus station through Carnforth, Warton around Silverdale then on to Arnside and back

The Silverdale Shuttle bus meets the trains and provides a shuttle service between Silverdale Railway Station and Silverdale Village. Please contact Carnforth connect office on 01524 734311 or visit
