DONALD DAKEYNE
Studied at Bolton College of Art and Bretton Hall.
He has exhibited at the Manchester Academy, the Royal WaterColour Society Galleries and several galleries in the north including the Salford Art Gallery, the Harris Museum, Preston and Townley Hall, Burnley.
His subject matter is usually landscape and buildings executed in pen and watercolour. He is a topographical artist who has a remarkable gift for presenting the unique beauty of the North Western landscape, and, in his urban scenes, a delightful way of reminding us that not all our industrial heritage is ugly or our mills satanic.
He has also illustrated a number of books of walks in the north and had published several series of signed prints for the Fine Art Trade Guild.
