Patricia came to Lancashire to study art at the Storey Institute in Lancaster and graduated in 1980 with a degree in fine art. Since then her paintings have been regularly exhibited in galleries in the North West, across the UK and Europe and are held in private collections in the UK and Australia.
Her original painting of the sweet shop in Kirkby Lonsdale was bought by the confectionary giant Cadbury in 2006.
Patricia is known for her expressive colourful paintings of the Mediterranean and more familiar scenes around the MorecambeBay area.
“I love to absorb the atmosphere of places and am I fascinated by the ever changing characteristics of light and its effect on colour; from the dramatic shadows cast by the midday sun to the diffused radiance of early morning and evening. Even the plainest scenes can be transformed from the ordinary to the ravishing.”
Her paintings are published as limited edition prints and greetings cards and her local images are sold in galleries in Lancaster,Morecambe, Garstang, Kirkby Lonsdale, Silverdale and Bowness.
Patricia also paints to commission and is presently involved in the design of the colourful murals in Morecambe; part of Morecambe’s Regeneration Project commissioned by Lancaster City Council.
