Tracey has always been interested in design and textile decoration. Her passion over the past 10 years has been for Creative Embroidery and Upholstery both of which she has pursued down the City & Guilds route.

She set up Design Inspiration in 2004, since which time she has designed and produced several ranges of exclusive silk and linen cushions and machine embroidered panels. More recently, much of her time has been spent re-upholstering furniture; from drop-in seats for dining chairs to Victorian Buttoned Back armchairs. She particularly enjoys reviving and restoring very old pieces of upholstered furniture. Advice is always given regarding the best method of upholstery to use, ‘modern’ or ‘traditional’, to give the desired level of comfort and durability. A selection of fabrics and trimmings are available, sourced from leading UK designers.

Tracey prides herself in producing work of the highest quality.

Courses and Workshops in both Soft Furnishings and Textile Decoration, using a multitude of techniques, are offered. The Autumn ’07 programme will be available at the Art Trail or on request:
