Miss Wilks uses a mixture of carving and hand throwing techniques to create sculptural vessels and tableware. Taking inspiration from the very earth the clay originates, she goes so far as collecting materials from our glorious surroundings to enhance her work, such as slate from local mines, adding colour and texture to each unique piece.
Lisa studied Contemporary Applied Art in Carlisle, earning a first in 2012. Since then, she has taken time out to raise her family, only recently returning to her field to unleash all those ideas that have been bubbling away over the last 10 years.
Her tactile pieces will make a beautiful addition to any enthusiast’s collection.
