Stuart Sykes has over 40 years experience as a professional woodworker.
For 10 years he was Woodturner in Residence at Brockhole National Visitor Centre, where he demonstrated his craft to many thousands of visitors.
He has supplied many organisations with his work, including The National Trust, English Heritage and the Forestry Commission. He also took part in the One Tree Exhibition, and his work has been enthusiastically received by many galleries.
The last 10 years were spent mainly cabinet making, making furniture from local hardwoods and softwoods.
In his latest phase Stuart is making smaller pieces for the home using recycled and reclaimed timber in both their natural and painted form.
His ambition is to use only recycled materials including wood, fittings and paint making no two pieces alike, each piece an individual handmade piece of art.
