Getting Around

The Trail Bus operates on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 June only.

Please note changes in route, times and fares. Free Park and Ride is available at Silver Saplings Guide Field, (P1) Park Road, Silverdale LA5 OUH

Purchase a £2.50 ticket on the bus to allow all day travel (hop on/hop off)

Under 16s free. Catalogues are available to buy on the bus at £2

The Trail Bus links the villages of Silverdale and Arnside and bus stops bus are clearly signposted and identified on the maps.

The new route starts at Silver Saplings Guide Field, circuits Silverdale then proceeds to Arnside via Carr Bank, Redhills Road to Parkside, (Venue 33) where it will commence the return route via Arnside village.

Outward departures from Silver Saplings Park and Ride, LA5 OUH

11:00am, 12:00pm, 1:00 pm, 3:00 pm, 4:00 pm, 5:00 pm. No service at 2:00pm.

Bus stops: Silver Saplings Guide Camp, Silverdale Station (3), Stankelt Rd/Spring Bank (18), Gaskell Hall (20), St John’s CE School (21), Woodlands/Methodist Church Hall (27), Waterslack Drive end (1), Orchard Road end, Arnside (38,39), Parkside Guest house (33), Redhills/Silverdale Rd, Arnside Pier (42,43).

Return departures from Parkside Guest House (33), Redhills Rd (LA5 0AU), 11:30am, 12:30 pm, 1:30pm, 3:30pm, 4:30 pm, 5:30 pm. No service at 2:30pm

Return from Parkside Guest House to Park and Ride, Silverdale, (25 minutes)

There is a train service from Lancaster to Barrow, calling at Silverdale and Arnside. See Trainline website for details


Once in the villages you are free to choose whether you stroll along the roads and lanes between the venues, or take one of the many clearly marked footpaths which cut through the fields and woods between venues.

By bus

Silverdale has its own Shuttle bus service and is in operation on Friday and Saturday only. Details can be found on leaflet 133, Service 1 and timetables can be picked up at the Co-op in Silverdale.

Stagecoach do have service buses to Silverdale and Arnside. The new timetable can be found here

By car

Please note that parking is limited at some venues but it is possible to park up and walk safely to several venues nearby. Parking is indicated on the map, as are public footpaths. Or you might prefer to take advantage of our Trail Shuttle Bus and leave your car behind!
